TGA approves magic mushrooms to treat mental health conditions
The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has approved the use of psychedelic drugs to treat certain mental health conditions.
Drugs such as magic mushrooms and MDMA will be allowed to be prescribed for certain conditions such as depression and PTSD.
Australia will be one of the first countries to recognise psychedelic drugs as medicine.
Health Insurance Fund CEO Justin James told Oliver Peterson at Perth Live it is a welcome announcement.
