Testing crisis in eastern states threatens WA supply chains

A lack of rapid antigen tests is threatening to disrupt WA supply lines as truck drivers struggle to get their hands on them.
It’s left the industry short-staffed as drivers in the easter states are unable to confirm if they have the virus and are forced to isolate.
Transport Workers Union National Secretary, Michael Kaine told 6PR Afternoons said WA has an opportunity to fill the void.
“The perfect opportunity exists, and that is to make sure that there is a massive and adequate, freely available, free of charge supply of rapid antigen tests in the state of WA before the virus hits,” he said.
“And that’s going to mean that WA will be placed better perhaps than any other place in Australia, maybe even the world, of being able to make that challenge.
“And I think that’s an opportunity we should not miss,”
