The top two ranked men’s players in world tennis could be headed for Perth alongside polarising figures Nick Kyrgios and Novak Djokovic to play in a new $23 million teams events.

Tennis Australia will unveil the United Cup on Friday morning, a Hopman Cup-style event featuring teams from 18 countries to be played at RAC Arena and in Brisbane and Sydney over 11 days in late December and early January.

Tennis West CEO Brett Patten told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast there was a real chance world no.1 and 2 Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal will head down under for the lead-in tournament to the Australian Open.
