Tenants told they can’t remove family of feral cats for at least eight weeks

Tenants of a home in Carlisle have been told they aren’t allowed to remove a family of feral cats that are currently living in the property’s roof space for at least two months.
Dean Nicolo, Principal of Professionals Real Estate in Victoria Park told Mark Gibson they have been told by RSPCA that the two mother cats and kittens cannot be removed from the roof until the kittens are at least 8 weeks old.
“It’s a bit of a risk for our tenants – the kittens have now burrowed themselves into the insulation and there’s electrical fittings throughout the roof space so it’s also unsafe for the little kittens,” he told Mark.
“We think it’s quite unreasonable and that’s why we have called you guys.”
