6PR Drive presenter Rusty Collett vented his frustration over “black holes” in metropolitan Perth – including one in Hilton – saying that phone reception was better back in the ’90s.
Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman Cynthia Gebert says that despite a 6.5 per cent drop in overall complaints about phone and internet problems, more must be done to restore trust in telcos.
“It’s driving a lot of frustration to my office. If we look only at mobile connectivity issues, intermittent service and dropout issues were up 22 per cent last year … There are some real challenges that need to be overcome so people can trust that they can rely on their phone and internet,” she said.
