A 15-year-old boy has been charged over an alleged assault that left a British expat fighting for his life in hospital.

A talented soccer player, 25-year-old Danny Hodgson had been celebrating the end of season with his ECU Joondalup teammates on Saturday night when he was allegedly king-hit in the city.

Mr Hodgson’s parents are stuck in the United Kingdom and are desperately searching for a flight to be by their son’s side.

The boy is due to face a charge of grievous bodily harm in Perth Children’s Court later this month.
