A 13-year-old boy has been charged after he allegedly climbed on the roof of Perth Train Station.

Four major train lines were delayed for more than an hour while transport staff and police tried to catch the teen last night.

WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch told Gareth Parker in his regular spot on 6PR Breakfast power to the overhead lines had to be switched off during the incident.

“It was shut down really for the safety of the boy but the safety of the public, so I know it was an inconvenience at times but the PTA made the right decision … so we could get the boy off the train,” he said on Wednesday.
