Synergy CEO apologises for overcharging over 170,000 Western Australians

The Synergy CEO has been forced to apologise after it was revealed they had accidentally overcharged more than 170,000 customers a total of $40 million.

6PR and Nine News reporter Charlotte Italiano says Kurt Baker has blamed a system error for the incident.
“The economic watchdog found that there were thousands of vulnerable customers who had been overpaid … This has launched into a bigger investigation through Synergy’s own internal investigation,” she told Simon Beaumont.
