Being Scottish must prepare you for swimming in some of the coldest environments in the world, but nothing can prepare you for swimming all of them.

Former ultra-marathon swimmer Andy Donaldson took on the challenge to raise much-needed funds and awareness for mental health, crossing seven of the toughest and most iconic channels on the planet.

“You can do all the physical preparation in the world for swimming long distances but nothing prepares you for the mental aspect of it,” Mr Donaldson said.

“You’ve just got to keep reminding yourself of why you’re doing it.”
