Subiaco and South Fremantle, who have both finished the season either first or second in the last five years, will go head-to-head in the WAFL Grand final on Saturday.

The league’s two most dominant sides will face-off at Optus Stadium at 3:20pm on Saturday evening, which will be broadcast live on 6PR.

South Fremantle President Peter Christie told Gareth Parker it will be a great contest.

“Subi have been a very well run club for a long time, they’ve got a great team and we’re going to have to be at our very best to win,” he said.

“But I don’t think too many Claremont people would have crossed the bridge thinking they could lose last week, so underestimate us at your own Peril.”

Meanwhile, Subiaco coach Beau Wardman said his team are well placed to run out on Saturday.

“I think every time you get to a Grand Final it’s a different game and you want to win it, you never know when you’re going to get back there,” he told Gareth Parker.

“I think the boys are well prepared, we’ve been pretty thorough as what we can from a coaching perspective.

“It promises to be a great day and continuing the festival of footy in WA.”
