Subcontractors ‘still exposed’ on WA government projects
A report tabled today to State Parliament has found the State Government has done little in six years to protect subcontractors on projects.
WA Auditor General Caroline Spencer told Liam Bartlett on 6PR Mornings that subcontractors on state government projects had benefited by successive reforms that increased protection for workers.
“But subbies are still exposed on state government construction projects, because some of the reforms aren’t being implemented by state government entities,” she said.
Some of the projects examined by the Auditor General included those at Perth Children’s Hospital and ones being managed by Western Power.
