Study finds ‘showing off’ as the key to career advancement

SUMMER PERTH LIVE

A study has found workers who “put themselves out there” are more likely to advance in their careers.

Dr Florian Klonek, lead author at the Centre for Transformative Work Design at Curtin University told Perth Live that when you show off your skills, it allows your supervisor to better allocate the tasks that match your talents.

“If you want to shape your career, you’ve got to think of situations that are uncomfortable and you don’t have to do big steps,” Dr Klonek said.
