The man who was handed more than 500 separate accusations for allegedly aiding disgraced and convicted Departments of Housing and Communities executive Paul Whyte in stealing $27.4 million from taxpayers is expected to have his charges dropped.

Jacob Anthonisz has had the corruption charges hanging over him since 2021, but as Gary Adshead reported on 6PR Mornings there is talk all of the charges will be dropped.

“Whyte fell on his sword immediately, making full confessions and pleading guilty; Mr Anthonisz has maintained his innocence,” Mr Adshead said.

“The word is that the prosecutors have decided to end their pursuit of Mr Anthonisz after assessing the public interest value as well as the costs of a trial.”
