The mayor of the City of Stirling has backed a move to fence off more than half of the Mirrabooka Regional Open Space playing fields for the Perth Glory Football Club.

Mayor Mark Irwin says the council hasn’t experienced much backlash.

“[The] Community are always interested in what’s going to happen with their own public use of that space and what benefit they’ll get out of this,” he told 6PR Perth Live.
