Sport’s Integrity’s complaints unveil nationwide kids’ sport war

According to Sport Integrity Australia, almost half of the complaints made to the organisation relate to children’s sport, pointing to a worrying focus on competitiveness.

SIA received 608 non-doping complaints in the last year, dwarfing the statistics on sport-related issues the organisation is probably more known for.

Educational and Developmental Psychologist Rose Catali told Mick and Lachy it’s easy to blame the issue on children being too sensitive.

I think what we’re seeing is kids are being themselves; it’s up to us as educators to be able to manage that and to maybe get the best out of those kids and people in general,” Doctor Cantali said.
