News out of the United States that Spam is making a comeback on some fine dining menus across the country had Breakfast co-hosts Lisa Barnes and Mark Gibson in disbelief.

But 6PR listeners were quick to alert the pair the pork-based, canned meat was indeed still popular down under too. When the stand-in hosts arrived at work this morning, there were two cans of Spam waiting for them to sample.

Gibbo: “It looks like dog food.”
Barnesy: “It is kind of like polony.”
