Radio astronomers are reporting that Starlink satellites are causing unforeseen impacts on their field.

Dylan Grigg, from the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research at Curtin University, explained to Perth Today host Simon Beaumont that the Starlink satellite signals are overwhelming the faint signals from the early universe that researchers are trying to study.

“It’s a bit like me standing next to you shouting in your ear with a megaphone, with you trying to hear someone over the other side of the field; it makes it very difficult,” he said.
