Space flights could slash flight times to the UK to two hours

Article image for Space flights could slash flight times to the UK to two hours

Commercial space flights are likely to be soon available, dramatically cutting the time it would take to fly to far-flung destinations.

Flights by companies such as Virgin Galactic would take passengers up to between 80 and 100 kilometres above the Earth’s surface.

“Instead of these flights kind of doing a circle and coming back, you essentially go up and over and land on the other side,” Dr Tucker said.
