A redevelopment of the Sorrento Surf Lifesaving Club has been in the works for 10 years and is now edging closer to becoming a reality.

A council meeting was held last Tuesday, which allowed plans to move forward for a new club and community facility.

Rob Doherty, Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club former President and Life Member, told Jamie Burnett on Perth Live, that the club is suited to 800 members, but has exceeded this with more than 2100 members.

“It’s been a slow burn, but I think we are progressing forward with some positives now,” Mr. Doherty said.
