Courtney Hooper, a WA-based 11-year veteran make-up artist and owner of Hooper Artistry, claims Meta unjustly disabled her Instagram account with no option to appeal.

She informed Perth Today host Simon Beaumont that the account was flagged for child exploitation, despite her only posting make-up on adult faces.

“I can’t appeal it; there’s no way to talk to anyone because it’s all AI now so there’s no helpline, no email address, so there is no way to get into the back end of anything to appeal it; it’s just completely gone,” she said.
