Should parliamentarians be held to higher standards for lewd language?

Workplace relations expert Saul Harben from Clayton Utz explained to Perth Today host Chrissy Morrissy that it’s critically important to call out such behaviour.
Harben stated, “It is clear that the words attributed to the member of parliament in question fall below the standards that those framework documents set for acceptable workplace conduct.”Â
When discussing workplace standards he added “You can reduce 75% of your problem by eliminating casual sexism, casual racism, casual language in the workplace, encouraging people not to be bystanders when they see it and making sure they feel supported if they call out bad behaviour.
