A worker has had five hours of work removed from his pay for using his phone while on a shift.

This poses the question, do people have a right to use their mobile phones at work?

Employment law Barrister Ian Neil SC told 6PR Perth Live the employer is justified in penalising the worker.

“Employees don’t have a right to spend their working hours doing personal things,” said Mr Neil SC.
