Homeless week is taking place in Perth from the 1st of August through to the 7th of August, an event that aims to raise awareness on the impact of homelessness in Australia.

CEO and Founder of Short Back and Sidewalks, Craig Hollywood told Mark Gibson on Perth Live about his volunteer-run service that provides free hair-cutting and grooming for members of the community who are experiencing homelessness.

 “If you think of that feeling when you get a haircut, it’s not going to change your life but you definitely had a great chat with your hairdresser and brings confidence to everyone’s day regardless,” Mr Hollywood told Mark.

“It’s a 100% volunteer lead organisation which started in Perth but now operates in Sydney and Melbourne. The power of giving back is huge and it’s something our volunteers have jumped on board just for that fact.”
