Fresh allegations of sexual harassment and abuse in FIFO mining camps have been brought to light.

It follows a parliamentary inquiry into the mining industry, which began last year after several women reported their experiences.

Two more women have now come forward, claiming they have been attacked or harassed at mine sites in the Pilbara and Goldfields.

Committee chair and Deputy Liberal Leader WA Libby Mettam told Liam Bartlett on Mornings the testimonies she’s heard have been shocking.

“Over 250 complaints that went from sexual harassment to some really horrific stories of sexual assault and rape,” she said.

“We heard individual confidential witnesses who had come forward to tell their story.”
