Second day of searching for missing South-West boy draws to a close

Search crews have spent a second day looking for an eight-year-old boy missing in the state’s south-west.

The boy was camping with family in Walpole at Fernhook Falls when he went missing around 9am yesterday.

Police were called after what’s been described as a boating incident, in which the boy disappeared.

6PR Nine News reporter Brittany Hoskins is on the scene, she told Oliver Peterson bad weather has made searching tough.

“Relentless rain and wind has hampered efforts in terms of getting drones up,” she said.
