A missing 8-year-old boy in the State’s South West has now been missing for almost 48 hours.

The boy was camping with family in Walpole at Fernhook Falls with his family, and is believed to have gone missing following a boating accident around 9am on Sunday.

60 SES volunteers and police divers will resume their search today having spent Monday searching in dense bushland and waterways with heavy rain hampering search efforts.

Nine News Reporter Brittany Hoskins says weather conditions have improved slightly as the searching begins.

“Police were able to put up their drone this morning, as weather conditions have improved slightly, there has been a bit of sunshine,” she told Mark Gibson on 6PR Mornings

“They’ve been scouring the river banks for any sign of the young boy.

“At this stage he has not been found.”
