The search is on for the lucky WA resident who won Thursday nights $40m Powerball jackpot.

Boulder Newsagency and Lotto has sold five winning division one tickets in 10 months, so could they have sold a sixth winner?

Owner of Boulder Newsagency and Lotto Michael Saville told 6PR Breakfast the winner is yet to claim their prize.

“No unfortunately we did not sell a sixth winning ticket – it’s not us, sorry,” Mr Saville said.

Spokesperson for LotteryWest Sarah Dawson told 6PR Breakfast the ticket was sold in the metropolitan area.

“When the ticket holder contacts LotteryWest and we can verify the ticket, we will then know which store it was sold in,” Ms Dawson said.
