Alec Baldwin has reached a settlement with the family of Halyna Hutchins.

The renowned actor discharged a prop weapon on the set of Rust, accidentally killing 42-year-old director of photography Halyna Hutchins last year.

The lawsuit against Baldwin, the film’s production companies, its producers and other key members of the crew, alleged numerous industry-standard violations.

US correspondent Charles Feldman told Breakfast stand-in hosts Julie-anne Sprague and Mark Gibson husband Matthew Hutchins will be an executive producer on film and receive a portion of the profits as part of the settlement.

“I hate to say it, Hollywood being Hollywood, there was a lot of money at stake,” he said.
