Rumour Confirmed: Truckies being turned back at WA border

Truck drivers are being turned back at the state border because they haven’t completed a negative COVID test within 72 hours.

Rumour file caller Get Back said there are “some unhappy truckies” who aren’t being allowed into Western Australia

State Secretary Transport Workers Union, Tim Dawson, confirmed the rumour on Thursday morning.

“We’ve got truck drivers coming to the border in good faith … and because they haven’t had a test in 72 hours they’re being turned around and sent back,” he said on 6PR Breakfast.

“It’s no fault of those drivers, because a number of the testing sites are closed when they go through there, so they have no choice but to continue on their trip.”
