It wouldn’t be election season without a few turgid objections.

Thanks to the John Hughes Hyundai Rumour File, we learnt yesterday that Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas’ campaign signs in the city have been defaced by a particularly determined graffiti artist.

Thankfully, Bas is able to take artistic protests with good humour.

“I’m hoping to get up on October 21, gentleman,” Mr Zempilas said.
