Ola says its services are back to about 90% of pre COVID-19 levels in Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide.

But recently, people are having to wait for a long time to get service from the rideshare companies.

The managing director of Ola Australia and New Zealand says it’s all because of the pricing for drivers.

“WA is still under a state of emergency and that law prohibits any of the rideshare companies from actually changing their pricing, so we normally would use peak pricing so in terms of high demand, the price goes up… more and more drivers come on stream.
“We can’t do that at the moment and that’s why we’re seeing unusually high wait times,” Simon Smith told 6PR Breakfast.
