Maddington residents say local crime from state housing is getting so bad, they’re organising forums to pressure the Department of Communities into action.

City of Gosnells Councillor Glenn Dewhurst told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings the government is “enabling” these people to commit crimes.

“We’ve got families living in houses that refuse to go out after dark… people shouldn’t be that terrified in their own homes,” said Mr Dewhurst.

“There’s a disconnect between police and the Department of Communities.”
