Residents of a Mandurah suburb are outraged after home CCTV caught a group of men blatantly attacking kangaroos in the street.

The footage was shared with news networks over the weekend and shows the men setting their dogs onto kangaroos, including joeys.

Peel Marsupial Care Secretary Jenny Norton told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings she was “gutted” by the events, and that while most residents in the area appreciated and respected the animals, there were “idiots” who made their job horrible.

“I started volunteering thinking I’d be cuddling cute kangaroos and help raise them, and every year it’s just gotten worse and worse,” Ms Norton said.
