Researchers say this simple remedy could slash child tonsillectomies

A simple nasal spray could drastically reduce the number of children needing their tonsils or adenoids surgically removed, according to a new study.
The research led by Murdoch Children’s Research Institute found using a saline nasal spray for six weeks led to resolved symptoms in 40 per cent of children experiencing snoring and breathing difficulties.
Associate Professor Kirsten Perrett, Deputy Director of the Melbourne Children’s Trials Centre at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast that’s 40 per cent of children that don’t need to go on and have tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy.
