Reports that patients are being turned away from Fiona Stanley Hospital after ‘major ICT outage’

Fiona Stanley Hospital has reverted manual procedures after a “major ICT outage” crashed their system at 10pm on Monday night.
There are also reports some patients have been turned away.
Chief Executive South Metro Health Office Paul Forden told Gareth Parker they’re still investigating.
“Looking to try and find out exactly what’s causing the problem, but that’s taking a little while,” he said.
“But until then we will just continue with paper.”
Full statement from South Metropolitan Health Service.
“Fiona Stanley Hospital has suffered an ICT outage and has reverted manual procedures.
Patients safety remains our priority and we continue to care for our patients.
We continue to provide surgery, outpatients and emergency care, but delays can be expected.
We do ask that people only come to FSH if it is an emergency.
We can still deliver imaging, pathology tests and medications.
Our ICT teams are working hard to fix the situation.”
