Report finds banks mishandling deceased estates

An inquiry into the handling of deceased estates has found instances of poor practice and non-compliance among the six banks in the study.
Banking Code Compliance Committee Deputy CEO Rene van de Rijdt spoke to Oly Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live.
“We incorporated six banks in the inquiry, and all six banks in the study had charged fees for services no longer provided on accounts of deceased customers,” Mr Van de Rijdt said.
