Showbiz icon Bert Newton sadly passed away over the weekend at the age of 83.

Peter Ford, entertainment reporter, told Gareth Parker, that Bert was fighting until the end.

Ford shared one of his best memories of Bert, who gifted a Gold Logie to a dying AIDS patient who had just days to live.

“He told me to never tell the story until ‘I’ve carked it’ – those were his words,” he said.
