Recipe: Verity James’ mushroom p?t?

Introducing talented broadcaster and passionate gastronome Verity James – Perth Tonight’s new resident foodie.

This month, VJ talked all things bread – and even taught us how to pronounce bruschetta properly.?

Mushroom p?t?

‘Get yourself some mushrooms, saute them off with some onion, some garlic. Whizz them up in a food processor with some cream cheese and, if you want, some herbs, salt and pepper. Stick it in a little ramekin and you have got mushroom p?t?! You just have to chill it back down again and then you serve it on hot toast.’

Verity’s tip: ‘When you put truffle oil on the top of it, it just adds this wonderful depth.’

Of course, good quality bread can make all the difference too. VJ invited her fellow foodie Eddie Stirniman to share the secrets of creating the perfect loaf.
