WA households are “really well positioned” to deal with the rising cost-of-living according to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) WA.

It comes as the CCI released their biannual report today which found that WA households saved more than their interstate counterparts over the past couple of years.

CCI WA Chief Economist, Aaron Morey, told Gareth Parker there were a number of factors that left WA well-positioned.

“We had our really strong mining sector and all that fiscal stimulus – Job Keeper, Job Seeker supplements – they were cream on top,” he said on 6PR Breakfast.

“And so a lot of WA households are very well placed, a lot of headroom in their mortgages … (they’re) very well-positioned, particularly over the next few months.”
