The two police officers who died in a fatal shooting in Chinchilla, Queensland have been identified.

Rachel Mccrow and Matthew Arnold were one of four police officers who were called to the property to investigate a missing person’s report when the devastating tragedy took place.

President of the Queensland Police Union Ian Leavers told 6PR Mornings host Gary Adshead it’s an absolute tragedy.

“We’re not used to this hostility and execution-style killing by these callous, murderous cowards,” said Mr Leavers.

Western Downs regional council mayor Paul McVeigh told 6PR Mornings host Gary Adshead the “loss of these people will be felt forever.”
