Calls to alter the registration process of organ donors emerge as only 38 per cent of West Australians are currently enrolled.

Transplant Australia CEO Chris Thomas joined Julie-anne Sprague to discuss the best way to increase organ donor registration in the state.

“We are so pleased that the parliamentary inquiry in Western Australia had said there is a really simple solution to this problem, and that is to get it back on the driver’s license,” Mr Thomas said.

“The consent rate has always been much higher at around 70 per cent, so registering and telling you family that’s your decision is the simplest and most profound way to make sure if it comes to that, you can save other lives.”
