A staffy has broken the national record for number of puppies in a litter, giving birth to 22 young ones.

After spending three full days in labour, Honey gave birth to the dogs over  an almost 24-hour period.

Owner Jayden Cousins told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast Honey and the surviving pups are doing well, and he’s glad they made it through.

“It’s absolutely insane, I’ve had about five hours’ sleep in the last four days,” Mr Cousins said.
