There was fierce debate on the airwaves and in the production studio over the pronunciation of famous historic Perth department store Boans.

A famous retail chain which operated in Perth from the late 19th century to the late 20th century, Boans’ landmark store was located in Perth, between Wellington Street and Murray Street, with other outlets including Kwinana and Morley, which famously burnt down in 1986.

But it was the pronunciation of the store that had everyone fired up on Thursday, debating whether it’s called BO-ANS or BOANS.
