Wooroloo prisoners working at a Perth animal shelter as part of a release program have been discovered eating guinea pigs.

Corrective Services Commissioner Brad Royce told 6PR Breakfast hosts Karl and Ian that an independent investigation would be launched.

He stated, “The issue for me isn’t so much the guinea pigs, as bad as that sounds, it’s more about the security and making sure that we follow the rules and keep everyone safe.”
