Principals want mandatory jail for assaults on staff

The WA Primary Principals’ Association wants mandatory jail terms for those found guilty of assault against principals and their deputies.
Association President Stephen Breen has launched a state-wide campaign to have principals and deputy principals added to the list of public officers under Sections 297 and 318 of the Criminal Code.
Mr Breen has told Gary Adshead on the 6PR Morning Show that 1606 assaults on WA school leaders were reported in 2015.
