Fremantle Dockers overPOWERed by Port in wet conditions.

Article image for Fremantle Dockers overPOWERed by Port in wet conditions.

The Fremantle Dockers remain winless after a 29 point loss to a top of the ladder Port Adelaide.

Port prevailed in wet conditions with Travis Boak amassing 26 possessions and Charlie Dixon & Justin Westhoff with 2 goals each.

Jesse Hogan returned to the field with 9 disposals but it was Nat Fyfe’s effort in the final quarter that sparked any hope of a fight back by the Dockers.

It was a quick start for the Fremantle Dockers getting the first goal through 100th gamer Travis Colyer. Port Adelaide responded quickly with some Sam Powell-Pepper soccer skills. The arm wrestle remained right throughout the first quarter with Freo’s Matt Taberner sending them into the break with a 6 point lead.

The second quarter was a different story however with Dockers unable to get inside their attacking 50 until the last minute. Port Adelaide’s big men were also in sensational form despite the wet weather.

The second half resulted in a couple of injuries for both sides. Sam Sturt rolling his ankle and unable to play out the rest of the game, while Port Adelaide’s Xavier Duursma sustained a serious hamstring injury.

Captain Nat Fyfe led the charge late in the final quarter with a goal but hope was quickly squashed by Port’s Ollie Wines with 25 disposals and the final goal.
