Yarrie Station owner Annabelle Coppin has felt the full brunt of Cyclone Ilsa’s landfall, describing the vicious storms last night as “pretty wild”.

Ilsa touched down on the coast near Pardoo – between Port Hedland and Eighty Mile Beach – at around midnight last night.

Ms Coppin said the eye of the storm passed over Yarrie at around 3am, giving them about 15 minutes to assess their property.

“We were able to run out then and tie a few things down, secure a few things and grab some tin and tie all that up,” Ms Coppin said.

“But we also saw how much damage there was then.”
