Premier says WA is the ‘strongest economy’ in Australia after delivering the budget

The Premier and Treasurer Mark McGowan has handed down Labor’s 2023 budget, highlighting a $4.2 billion surplus, which he said every West Aussie should “be proud” of.
The Premier told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live the state is the strongest economy in the country.
“We’re doing everything we can to reduce the cost of living pressure and provide better services and world-class infrastructure as well as dealing with those long-term issues of decarbonising our electricity system all the while we’re paying down debt and delivering surpluses,” said Mr McGowan.
“Western Australia is leading Australia and in many ways leading the world.”
