WA Premier Mark McGowan called in to 6PR Mornings to defend the State Government’s position on the latest Banksia Hill incident, as well as the almost $500 million spent on RAT tests and the budgetary focus on delivering a surplus.

Mr McGowan told Gary Adshead the necessity of upgrading funding behind homelessness and housing initiatives was a particular focus in the state budget announced yesterday.

“We want to make sure it’s all coordinated, and make sure we have the best outcomes for what we invest,” Mr McGowan said.

The Premier also stated he didn’t “interpret” Finance Minister Sue Ellery’s comments in Question Time on Thursday as accusatory towards the Auditor General’s beliefs on Covid.
