The Poverty in Australia 2023: Who is Affected report has shined a light on the plight of those living in poverty, detailing the effects COVID and economic inequality has had on vulnerable people.

Report author and UNSW Centre for Social Research in Health and the Social Policy Research Centre Director Professor Carla Treloar told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings one in eight adults and one in six children live in poverty in Australia.

“One of the largest growing groups of people living in poverty is older women,” she said.
